And the saga continues ...

It's been a year since I subscribed to his YouTube channel,  and now William Sledd is even on Isaac Mizrahi (supposedly a famous fashion designer, but he's kinda nutty here....oh mais j'adore trop :-)). Ah, William, my love for you doesn't fade - neither does my newfound love for Britney.  Check out the amazing beat of this song, and this one

Things you come across late at night...

Strangely, while reviewing my CV for the umpteenth time for my job interview tomorrow evening, I had to think of my director during theatre/drama class in high school in Lucerne. That was back in 1998/1999. I once heard he was quite a figure in the Swiss theatre scene, so I googled him. And wouldntcha know, here's what I got. Pretty groovy. Sometimes I wonder if he remembers me, after all, I did have a leading role under his direction. Ah, gotta go to bed and stop dreaming ...

Yet another random post - am just not in the mood quite yet

According to my sweetheart, Til Schweiger's new movie Keinhohrhasen (you already have to love the title of that flic! Kind of reminds me of my favorite German movie with the craziest title possible: Das merkwürdige Verhalten geschlechtsreifer Grossstädter zur Paarungszeit. Simply magnificent) is da bomb. I've watched the trailer and already feel like I'm gonna love it. Not only because I used to wear almost exactly the same glasses as the "wallflower" girl in the movie, hehe. There was hope for me too. Even wallflowers can blossom. LOL

Worth a thought...are you too picky?

I've just read this article on yahoo.com and think quite a few people out there should consider reading it...I know it's related to online dating, and not dating in general, but the same principles apply if you ask me.

"Limiting our options with a narrow search

We all have dreams. We all have standards. We all have ideas about how it's supposed to look. But when we remain trapped in our fantasies, reality suffers. And nowhere is this more apparent than in the online dating space. Because of the perception of choice -- just pop in some search criteria and dial up a spouse! -- we think we're being open to lots of people. In fact, we're narrowing our search far greater than we do in "real" life. (...)
In real life, if you start talking to someone at a party who is intriguing, you'll probably get a phone number and set up a date. You may not find out until later that he's a different religion, or political party. This is exactly what happened to me. I set my online search criteria for a 25- to 36-year-old Jewish liberal with a graduate degree. I remained single for the greater part of eight years. Then I went to a party eight months ago and met a woman who is 37, Catholic and Republican. We've been together ever since. The moral of the story is that none of us knows anything. (...)
So what does all this mean? Are we doomed to a life of solitude and loneliness? No. We might have to adjust our perspective a bit, though. First of all, it reminds us how hard it is to find somebody special. (...) Second, it reminds us not to be so narrow-minded in our searches. (...) Until we give others a chance, what hope do we have that they will give us a chance?"

Back soon

Until then, enjoy some good music folks. And art. Watch and listen Takagi Masakatsu. Wow. Got to know about this amazing artist through my Mexican hostbrother who's currently studying (something related to multimedia design) in Barcelona. His school will be participating in this video art festival.

Only in Geneva

Only in Geneva do you walk past Kofi Annan and his wife on a basically empty bridge at 8 pm. And when I saying walking past, I mean five inches next to him. How funny.

In no particular order

Crying along in the middle of the night isn't pleasant, but cleansing (last night)

I hate my laptop, it fell down again yesterday (DAMN cables! Verdammter Kabelsalat! My cellphone rang, I knew it was one of the chiefs of the Police of the city of Zurich - am going to interview him next week for my thesis - and I RAN to get my phone...and fell over the cables again). Luckily it still works this time. Am ordering my new Mac next week

Taking the train to Lucerne now, picking up my new glasses.

Seeing Christian!!! :-)

Panic mode? Hmmmmmmmmm

Writing a thesis is a pain in the ass, am hating it!! Jo, I totally forgot to send you stuff! Tend to forget that there are people I can ask for help (in this case, proofreading, or just reading to let me know if it's crap or not). Let me remember to do that once this weekend is over...

Am writing former employers (of last year) for work certificates

What to do after my studies? No time to think, but have to

DON'T PEOPLE GET MY EMAILS???? I have been writing a ton of emails to people since I got back from Egypt :-(( Even before I left for Egypt. Friends, family, thesis, contacts (personal and professional), my new mentor, former work colleagues .....bummer. Monday I will call people for my thesis again.

Why does this have to be in March every year? Shut up Carissa, your own fault.
