Hammer!

OH MY GOD !! If you ask me, this girl is gonna outsing Joss Stone - and she's SWISS! Hallelujah number 2 :-D Usem Wallis! I think I should stop making fun of that place - and start thanking Stefan Raab. Never thought I'd say that, either, haha.

I'm also digging the songs of her Swiss band called "Bigfisch", especially the song "Seeluverwandt".

Book your table for solidarity (Geneva, 8 May)

12 restaurants in Geneva and Swiss romande celebrities are teaming up to support Groupe sida Genève on 8 May, 2007. Have dinner in one of the following restaurants that night and 25% of your bill will go to the solidarity fund of Groupe sida Genève, providing direct financial support to people living with HIV/AIDS:

Officially Swiss

One of my best friends from High School, Sanja, proudly announced to me on the phone half an hour ago that she owns a Swiss passport since yesterday!!! Hahahaha, I couldn't stop laughing. After what, twelve years ? People, that's how long it usually takes to get a Swiss passport, especially if you're from a country like Bosnia (yes, there are other scenarios, but I won't get into that here. I studied Swiss Constitutional Law, it's very complicated). Don't get me wrong, I am incredibly happy for her!! This needs to be celebrated indeed!

The only photo I currently have of her is this one above. Doesn't she look fabulous? It was taken during our second-last year in High School aka our sixth year (!!!), during a one-day-project we had with History Class. We all rented costumes from the Belle Epoque era, spent a day walking around the city like that and had lunch in a famous old hotel in Lucerne (where we attended High School, in my case from 1993 until 2000. Veeery long in Switzerland, the last two years are sort of equivalent to one or two years of College in the US. Btw, I had a fantastic history teacher in High School, he was way better than many Professors I had at University). You can also see me in my Belle Epoque costume down below. I look terrible with anything on my head, I swear. I am not a hat person...

Check this out

Every now and then, I like to post about things you might not know about Switzerland, or talk about good Swiss artists, projects etc. To show the non-Swiss that we're not only all about chocolate and cheese and mountains.

Today - just got back from a meeting with Stefan (MCVPPD @Switz) and Joan (together on the NST PD with me), Joan and I are responsible for the GOldie aka experienced AIESECers track at Kick-Off 2007 - I quickly want to talk about seven, one of my favorite Swiss singers. He's got a fantastic voice, and he sings in English (and does very well at it, unlike so many Swiss artists who try too hard to sound American when they'd better just stick to what they know, i.e. singing in Swiss-German or French, which is perfectly fine), so you guys can understand the lyrics. Here some of his songs:

- Sign
- Mother
- Synthetic Soul
- Wake up
